The discovery of The Heroine’s Journey by Maureen Murdock has marked a turning point—what feels like both the beginning of an ending and the end of a beginning in my long creative descent into the Sanctum: the Tapetum Lucidum era.

Of course, journeys like this never truly end. They spiral. What’s closing is simply a loop—the rounding of a bend, the uncovering of long-buried treasure.

Over the years, I’ve encountered countless synchronicities that have shimmered like cave crystals along the path. Lately, they’ve intensified—signs, echoes, and moments of reflection guiding me deeper. And now, they urge me to bring these findings to light: the songs, the symbols, the artwork, and the lessons gathered through this sacred exploration of the Heroine’s myth.

A Journey of Descent and Discovery

This project—part memoir, part creative excavation—is an invitation to step into the echo chamber with me. Together, we’ll explore how the themes of the Heroine’s Journey resound through both personal and collective myth.

In times of chaos, I believe we need these hidden maps more than ever. And I long to listen as much as I share. Your reflections, too, are part of this great echo—each voice adding its own resonance to the tapestry.

As Murdock writes,

“The descent cannot be hurried because it is a sacred journey—one not only of reclaiming the lost parts of oneself, but also of rediscovering the lost soul of the culture.”

This is the work. The slow, holy unraveling.

So—don your grungiest clothes, light your lantern, open your ears, and brave the dark.
There’s music in the dripping stone and wisdom in the silence.
